One of our most common support calls is for help with changing your password on AppraisalPort. For security reasons, AppraisalPort requires you to change your password every 180 days. For most of us that is just enough time to forget how we did it the last time. This version of AppraisalPort has actually made it very easy to change your password. Simply log into your account and click on the tab that shows your username (and the little silhouette) in the upper right hand corner. You will then get a drop down list of selections. Click on Account Settings and it will take you directly to the page with all your personal settings. The box nearest the top of the page will display your username and right below it says Password and right next to that is a link that says Change Password. Click that link and you will get a pop-up box that will allow you to enter your old password and then enter your new password twice. Click Change Password at the bottom of that box and you are all set. AP will send a conformation of the change to your email address. You can change your password any time you want, so if the expiration date is getting close, just change it. The Account Settings page is also where you set up a security question and answer. If you don’t see one present, create one now. It is necessary to have this set up in advance if you forget your password or if it expires. Remember, the password must have at least one letter, one number, one special character, and it is case sensitive.
You will receive e-mail warnings as your password is getting near its expiration date, so try to change it before it expires. However, if you do forget and your password expires, all is not lost. You can still reset it yourself. From the AppraisalPort home page, click the Login Help button (just above the password box). From the pop-up that appears, click on the link that says: I Forgot My password. A space will appear with a place to enter your user ID. Enter your user ID and click Submit. You will then be sent an email with a link to follow. The link will take you to a page where you can enter a new password and answer your security question. After that you are ready to log-in and get to work. This same procedure also works if you just forget your password even if it hasn’t expired yet.
While we are on the subject of passwords, there is one other place you need to update your password whenever you have changed it on AppraisalPort. That place is in the OADI Envelope Uploader. What’s that? It is the program that actually uploads your AI Ready appraisal to AppraisalPort. It has to talk to your AppraisalPort account so it needs to have your current AP password. To get to the uploader, start in your forms software package and move through the usual steps to convert an appraisal to the AI Ready format. This process automatically opens the uploader. On the uploader screen, click the Connections button. Then click on the AppraisalPort tab. Enter your updated password in the field provided for the password. (Be sure to use the exact password you used to log into AppraisalPort.) Click OK and you’re done.
